Why oh why oh why????

How many times do you re-run things that have happened to you and keep asking why and nothing comes of it.  Or worse the why becomes why me and we drop into playing old victim patterns.

Honestly, we all have a tendency to get stuck in looking for the why and sometimes there is no answer apart from it just turned out that way.

Often just letting go of the need to know why and focusing on what will I do about it or do differently because of it or what have I learnt about me, my world and those around me creates the momentum to get going again and resume normal service.

Using tapping with clients to break that circle of why thinking and choosing to focus on what thinking can cut through to discovering how you can use the experience to grow.

So think about it nest time you find yourself stuck in the why’s and change to wise thinking by asking what and how you can support yourself and accept it happened and begin to move on again.

Transforming stress – maybe might even help with penalty shoot outs???

I know some of you may not be aware of it but the penalty shoot out is a particularly stressful way to win or lose a game!  Having seen how Heartmath and other techniques can help with the inner game I am wondering why it is every sports-person isn’t trained to harness the power of the mind?  So what is the main difference between successful penalty takers and those who ‘choke’?

The stress levels they experience and how good a coping strategy they develop is key and studies show that there are several behavioural cues that seem to be good indicators.  Jordet published a study in 2009 in Journal of Sports Sciences and identified key factors which seemed common to failed penalties.

These behavioural cues are driven by the self-talk – and perhaps a lurking fear that you don’t want to be added to the list of failed penalty takers.

Detox for the mind!

I’ve been reading about detox and even thinking of digging the juicer out from the back of the cupboard – although is it me or does it take longer to clean the juicer than make and consume the juice??.   Anyway it occurred to me that EFT/tapping is really detox for the mind – a quick and relatively pain-free way to clear out toxic emotions and the aftermath of toxic relationships.

So what about a tapalong to detox to-day?

What is it that would great for you to wash out and what would you replace it with?

How about – Even though I hold onto the toxic after effects of x I choose to let them dissolve away or get really specific about what created the toxins – is it anger, guilt, grief or any other mix of negative emotions and allow yourself to detox to-day!

Time for me to share why I have gone all quiet on you…Ta’dah…I have started writing my Tapping Tales book.

Read on dear reader – for some time now my heart has been pulling me towards writing my book about emotional freedom technique and coaching for adults and children.

The big news is – it has begun and I am working to get it finished for November and I will probably be sharing with you my highlights as I go.

The vision is simple – make tapping accessible to as many parents, grandparents, teachers etc etc as possible to allow them to find new ways to support themselves and their children from as early as possible.

We live in a world where I read about high levels of children being labelled disruptive or having various issues/problems that result in them being excluded in some way.  I want us to support those children and their parents in a different way by sharing tools and techniques they can use every single day.

And the book is the start of that….if you would lke to know more or want to get involves as a Tapping Tales parent reviewer – email me and we can connect by Skype – geography is no barrier and it will be in complete confidence.
